Why educators partner with SecureFutures

Programs are flexible and targeted

We make our program as flexible as possible to meet your needs. You tell us which of our lessons would best serve your students, how many students you teach, and specific dates that fit your schedule, and we’ll do the rest! Visit our honor roll of partner schools and organizations.

Classes are led by money experts (and role models!)

We start by hand-picking trained volunteers to meet the needs of your unique classroom environment. We supply them with all the materials they need to deliver the program. We communicate with you and the volunteers before, after, and during the program, and are available to address any question or concern you may have.

Three programs, one goal

In more than a decade of work with schools and community organizations, we have crafted our programs to provide proven engagement and results with teenagers. This shared goal of empowering teens through financial education comes in the form of three programs. Review our Program Guide for more information. (We were founded in 2006 as Make A Difference – Wisconsin and rebranded as SecureFutures in August 2017.)

  • Our foundational classroom program is Money Sense. It features three core lessons covering the foundations of budgeting, banking, savings and credit. Each lesson is delivered by one of our 700 trained and verified professionals from the business community. (Click here for Money Sense details and curriculum.)
  • Our newest technology-based lesson is Money Path. It introduces students to the concepts of financial planning and helps them to plan their next steps after high school. Volunteers guide students through the lesson as they work independently on their own computers. (Click here for Money Path details and curriculum.)
  • For in-depth lessons and mentoring, our Money Coach program puts volunteers and students in small groups and one-on-one to practice key habits of financial management, goal-setting and career-readiness. At the same time, successful Money Coach students earn funds toward college or their first career move. To optimize the impact, Money Coach is available to a select number of students and only in the Milwaukee area. (Click here for Money Coach details and curriculum.)
