Sun Prairie High School senior Deja Freeman said she’s been terrified about the future since freshman year. “I was scared to death to grow up and graduate and be on my own,” Freeman said.

With graduation fast approaching, Freeman said her panic about paying bills and managing her own finances had increased. She feels like it’s more under control, though, after her high school class started a program called “Money Sense” through Make a Difference, a volunteer-led program that teaches financial literacy skills.
