High school senior Taleavia Cole told a few hundred people about her financial relationship in a clever spoken word piece entitled “Make Money Yours.”
Taleavia is a participant in our Money Coach program through PEARLS for Teen Girls, as well as a graduating student at Milwaukee Collegiate Academy. During our annual Money Coach celebration, she wowed the crowd by spinning phrases around the good and bad relationships people have with their finances (check out the video below). She shares a sense of her own uplifting tale and even gives a nod to Jerryd Bayless, the Milwaukee Bucks guard and financial literacy advocate whom she shared the stage with in February.
Taleavia plans to attend the prestigious Howard University this fall and possibly explore a career as a lawyer. Let’s hope she continues to share her writing along the way. Please watch and share Taleavia’s heartfelt and clever piece, “Make Money Yours”.
