Twenty years ago, the cost of buying a home, raising a family, or saving for retirement looked very different from what it does today. For young adults entering the workforce, financial decisions carry higher stakes than ever. Housing costs continue to rise. Childcare can rival a mortgage payment. Building savings and investing for the future often compete with the realities of everyday expenses.
It’s no wonder we’re hearing so many young adults asking:
For 20 years, SecureFutures has helped teens build the financial knowledge and confidence they need to navigate life’s early money decisions. But our vision has always extended beyond those first financial choices. Financial capability isn’t built in a single semester. It develops over time through the opportunities we pursue, the challenges we face, and the guidance we receive along the way.
That’s why SecureFutures is creating a Money Coach Alumni Network.
The network will help alumni continue their financial journey long after high school by connecting them to ongoing learning opportunities, trusted financial professionals, community resources, and a growing network of peers who are navigating many of the same life decisions.
It could include virtual learning sessions, networking events, peer-to-peer conversations, and connections to experts, so alumni can gain practical knowledge that goes beyond financial literacy, helping them make confident decisions about homeownership, investing, career growth, family finances, entrepreneurship, and long-term wealth building.
As we celebrate 20 years of impact, we’re looking at the next 20 years. Our goal is to ensure that the young people we serve today continue to have access to the guidance, resources, and connections they need tomorrow.
The first lesson starts in high school, but the journey continues beyond completion of the program and beyond learning to manage money. Because the end of Money Coach is just the beginning of what’s next.
