From classroom to career: How Milton High School is helping students see their future with Money Path
October 23, 2026
What will life look like after high school? What career should I pursue? How much education will I need? And how will those decisions affect my financial future?
At Milton High School, students aren’t just asking these questions. They’re using Money Path to explore the answers.
Since 2018, 2,000 Milton High School students have used SecureFutures’ free, web-based academic, career, and financial planning tool to connect the decisions they’re making today with the futures they envision for themselves.
For more than a decade, Milton High School has made financial education and post-graduation readiness a priority. Through its Financial Literacy and Employability Skills program, the school helps students build the knowledge and confidence to pursue their goals after high school. Money Path brings those lessons to life, giving students an opportunity to explore real-world career choices, education costs, and long-term financial planning.
For business teacher Donald Kevin Jordahl, who has personally introduced Money Path to 936 students, the program has become a key part of his classroom.
“We use Money Path as an integral part of the student discovery process as they develop their Academic and Career Plan as required by the state of Wisconsin.”
One of the reasons Jordahl continues to use Money Path year after year is how easily it fits into his curriculum. Students work through the program together with the help of a step-by-step video guide, then have the freedom to create and compare multiple pathways on their own.
And with career, education, and financial information all in one place, students can spend less time searching for answers and more time exploring what’s possible.
“At their fingertips, the students have quick access to broad educational and career planning materials, which makes the process of searching for this type of information very easy and beneficial for them,” Jordahl shared, adding that having access to the program at no cost is another significant benefit for the school.
“We have found a real benefit in using the Money Path program and value that SecureFutures provides this program to the school without charge.”
Eight years and 2,000 students later, Milton High School continues to demonstrate how connecting academic, career, and financial planning can help students make more informed decisions about their futures.
Thank you to Donald Kevin Jordahl and Milton High School for your continued partnership and commitment to preparing students for life after graduation!
