2026 Teen Financial Capability Champion Award Winner
May 15, 2026
Congratulations to the 2026 Teen Financial Capability Champion Award Winner, Black Spring Foundation, Inc.
The Teen Financial Capability Champion Award is given to a special supporter who has made an extraordinary difference in advancing financial education for young people. This year at our annual Investment Conference, we were proud to present this award to the Black Spring Foundation in honor and appreciation of Natalie A. Black, whose generosity and belief in this work have opened doors for countless students. Natalie’s sister, Jennifer Westbrook, and Foundation trustees David Heck and Nathan Honson accepted the award on her behalf.
Black Spring Foundation, Inc. is a private foundation formed by Natalie Black. Natalie was the long-time general counsel of, and served in a number of executive roles at, Kohler Co. She was the wife of Herb Kohler, with whom she was a partner in business, life, and philanthropy. Natalie was extremely generous during her lifetime to causes that provide direct, visible help to people and animals in need. Natalie passed away in 2022, and Black Spring now works to support the charitable purposes that she articulated during her lifetime. One of those purposes is education in a very broad sense—including college scholarships, education for youth, and, by supporting SecureFutures, financial literacy education.
“We are deeply grateful to Natalie Black and the Black Spring Foundation for believing in the power of financial education,” said President and CEO of SecureFutures, Brenda Campbell. “Natalie’s generosity and vision continue to create opportunities for young people to build confidence, make informed decisions, and pursue brighter futures.”
