A unique opportunity with a like-minded organization
Next Gen’s founder, Tim Ranzetta, got the ‘saving bug’ early in life. Following a variety of career moves, 2011 found him teaching personal finance at Eastside College Prep in East Palo Alto, CA. It was a light-bulb moment for Tim. By 2014, the first-hand impact of that program on students inspired him to start Next Gen.
Next Gen Personal Finance is an organization with a mission and goals very similar to those of SecureFutures: teaching students the money management skills needed for financially successful and fulfilling lives. But Next Gen’s approach is different. They prepare school teachers to deliver essential money skills by providing them with resources such as customizable lessons and activities, professional development and advocacy tools.
As part of his Next Gen mission, Tim invited Brenda to join him in a discussion in order to familiarize his audiences with all that SecureFutures is doing in Wisconsin. Tim’s conversation with Brenda included how SecureFutures evolved from in-class school programs to new initiatives like
Money Coach – yet still focused on achieving positive and long-lasting behavioral change with students. The podcast of their discussion can be accessed here on the Next Gen website – with convenient timecode breakdowns for those who just want to hear specific portions of the podcast.
We invite you to listen in. And invite you to learn more about Next Gen…which we’re also excited to announce, has now become a SecureFutures supporter to help us expand our life-changing Money Coach program!
