2018 Difference Maker: Eddie Nash, a Passion for Empowering Teens

FacebookLinkedInTwitter

SecureFutures is honored to name Eddie Nash as our 2018 Individual Difference Maker, truly a powerhouse in the community.

Lloyd Levin (Founder), Sara Walker (Chairperson, Board of Directors), and Eddie Nash.

Employed by WE Energies for 26 years, Eddie has moved up the ranks from a Powerline Mechanic to his current position as Operations Manager. Additionally, Eddie serves as the Associate Minister at the Way of the Cross Missionary Baptist Church where he has been a member for 23 years.

We are most proud of the impact that he is having on our teens. In one school year alone, he logged nearly 25 hours presenting Money Sense lessons at several high schools, an MPS Youth Summit event and with teens in internships at WE Energies. The admiration and respect he earns from his students inspired an invitation to deliver the commencement address at one of our partner high schools. A first for any SecureFutures volunteer.

“We are teaching young members of the community how not to be bound to debt and financial mismanagement. Encouraging them to believe that they can live better by practicing and adhering to the principles taught by SecureFutures volunteers.”

– Eddie Nash

The award recipient is chosen by organization leadership and staff to recognize one volunteer’s exceptional commitment to our teen financial empowerment mission and vision.
